Our doors opened in 1997 renting VHS Tapes. We quickly transitioned to the new tech, DVD’s in 1999. In the heyday of the movie renting industry, a corporate company came to town with the intent to put us out of business. They stopped by one Sunday morning to tell us so. A few tough years followed, but through creative diversity we recreated our brand. The Dome, “Where Cool Happens” was born with the arrival of skateboards into our Video Rental Store. It has been a gentle transition over the past 20 years adding the shoes, apparel, hats, disc golf, body jewelry, sunglasses and a myriad of other cool brands that we carry. Death to the video rental portion of our business arrived when studios stopped making movies and lockdowns kept many at home in response to Covid-19. Our business continues to grow through our willingness to adapt and try new things -- often suggested by our own customers. Curiously, the corporation that stopped by to bully us so many years ago is no longer around. Thanks to the support of a great community, we look forward to the next 25 years!
